On July 28th Tampa artist Shawty is releasing his debut single "I Made it Rain."
Tampa, Florida US- June 30, 2009- Continuing with the sound of Tampa's "Jook City Movement," a sound that is characterized by a seamless blend of southern crunk, bounce and pulsating beats, is new Tampa artist Shawty with his debut single I Made it Rain, due for release on July 28th, 2009.
Following in the footsteps of the first "Jook City" artist to make national success, Javon Black (Shawty), I Made it Rain is a head-bopping song that is littered with an energetic vibe, and literally forces club goers to "Jook" to the infectious lively Hip-Hop sounds the song has to offer.
Shawty is an up-and-coming artist who was discovered by 5 O' Clock Music's Tampa recording artist, Strizzo, one of the pioneers of the "Jook City" sound whose hits include Low, Loww and Burn My Hit. Strizzo encouraged Shawty to sign with his label, and on May 3rd Shawty began recording an album under the 5 O' Clock Music imprint.
Still new in the game, Shawty has already worked with such big names as: Rick Ross on the single Take off Your Clothes, Frank Lini on his single Dope Boy Dime and he has written songs for Crunk City/ Dirty Down Records' recording artist JT Money.
I Made it Rain was produced by Florida based producer, Vinnie Beatz. Vinnie also worked on Acafool's single The Ride, which was featured in the 2009 movie Fast and Furious.
Shawty is currently recording his album that is due to hit the market in the fall of 2009. You can catch Shawty performing on the Florida leg of Strizzo's Burn My Hit promotional tour.
