ATLANTA – September 16, 2009 – On Saturday September 26th, 2009, the music and art lovers of Atlanta and beyond will get the chance to experience what might be one of the best indoor art & music festivals: Live From Out At SPACE. This cultural event will be a never before seen union of some of the best deejays in Atlanta stemming from both radio and production spinning on the same stage where a portion of the proceeds will benefit the Sickle Cell Foundation of Georgia. From Jamal Ahmad, Art Terrell, Soul Brother Tabone, Cha Cha Jones, Cozy Shawn (MJQ), Karl Injex (Rude-NYC), Producer Amdex, REV LEE (sonnynite.com), DJ Jamad (Afromentals), and DJ Theo (Chicago House) this will be one of the most eclectic mixes of acid jazz, nu-soul, house, Hip-Hop, funk, soul, disco, and more! Alongside the various deejays, attendees will get the opportunity to experience live performances by Hip-Hop legend MC SHAN, the glam-soul of Rahbi, the UK Queen of Soul Julie Dexter, ambient-house-down tempo of Michael Johnson and Murani Entertainment, jazz-soul of songstress Gabbie McGee, down tempo of Break Room, acoustic rock-soul Taranji and the funk-soul of Jeremy Thornton all split between spacious performance rooms.
Throughout the event attendees will be visually treated to art work exhibited by Occasional Superstar, Fabian & Dubelyoo, and photogRaphic works from Sean Cokes, Shannon McCollum, John Crooms, Kat Goduco, Marlo Herring, Rahmeek Rasul, Greg Ponder and many more.
This 8 hour cultural and sickle cell awareness experience will be held at SPACE a 15,000 square foot raw space and adjacent restaurant (SPACE ATLANTA) that will be converted for a great display of site and sound. Food and drinks will be provided by SPACE ATLANTA. With doors opening at 4:00 p.m. and entertainment running through 12:00 a.m. guest will be allowed re-entry with their ticket stub for the entire day. Cost is $10.00, 18 to enter 21 to drink.
