WASHINGTON, D.C. – September 14, 2009 – Soblu Production's highly-anticipated film, "Jazz in the Diamond District," starring Wood Harris and Clifton Powell, is coming to DVD in two weeks! The film, which garnered positive reviews from a number of media sources including the New York Times and sold out shows throughout its theatrical release earlier this year, will be available online and in stores for purchase on September 29, 2009. In addition to the DVD, the soundtrack, which features a talented array of musicians from the D.C. area, will be available digitally the same day. A preview of the soundtrack will be posted on the film's MySpace page the week of the release (www.myspace.com/jazzinthediamonddistrict).

About the Film
Jazz in the Diamond District chronicles the summer of one Washington, D.C., native, Jasmine "Jazz" Morgan, who joins a Go-go band in hopes of becoming a singing sensation. This rhythmic journey through the nation's capital was shot entirely on-location in Washington, D.C. and highlights the rarely-seen residential neighborhoods of the city and the volatile energy of Go-go music and the D.C. underground Hip-Hop scene. The film stars Wood Harris (HBO's "The Wire," PAID IN FULL, NEXT DAY AIR) and D.C.'s own, Clifton Powell (RAY, DEAD PRESIDENTS, NEXT FRIDAY), and will introduce native Washingtonians, Monique Cameron, Erica Chamblee, and Andre' Strong. The film was co-edited by Daniel Rezende (nominated for an Academy Award in 2004 for his work as the editor of the highly-acclaimed Brazilian film, City of God (2002)) and features an original score composed by D.C.'s own super-producer, Chucky Thompson (known for his work as a producer for artists such as Notorious B.I.G, Nas, Mary J. Blige, and native Washingtonian, Chuck Brown).

About the Music
The film is currently accompanied by a nine (9) track soundtrack album, which was co-produced by Chucky Thompson and Soblu Music Group producer, Maurice "Mo Digga" Randolph, and includes three (3) of the original Go-go songs from the film along with six (6) additional songs ranging from all facets of the Washington, D.C., music scene. The first single from the film's soundtrack, "Red Carpet,' performed by D.C.'s premiere Hip-Hop group, Likeblood, debuted on MTV Jams earlier this year after making its television debut as the "New Joint of the Day" on BET's, 106 & Park. Features on the album include Likeblood, the UnCalled 4 Experience (UCB), MTB4's DeAngelo Redman, Tabi Bonney, and up-and-coming chanteuse, Chris.
