Helping support community awareness in Washington, DC area high schools, community centers, and social organizations
Washington, DC. September 18, 2009- DJ Frances Jaye along with fellow artists, athletes, and local politicians will be a guest speaker during an informative clinical event during the First Annual Be Yourself, Love Yourself; Strive 2009 at the Ritz Carlton Hotel.
This community outreach to area high schools, community centers, and social service organizations will contain informative clinics pertaining to:
Identifying signs of low self esteem
Recognizing the cycle of violence
Talk and testimonial sharing with role models
Identifying local resources within the community
The event is geared towards making an effort in breaking the damaging impact of violence and the correlation that violence and low self-esteem has on today's youth. DJ Frances Jaye will be speaking on these topics both Tuesday September 22nd and Wednesday September 23rd, 2009.
The Master & Mistress of Ceremonies will include Jocelyn Taylor- Publisher of Uptown Magazine and Matthew Nugen-National Political Director of the Obama 2008 Campaign.
Thursday September 24, 2009 the finale will include the Strive 2009 Celebration of Community Service and change activists Honoring Aya Collins- Deputy Director of Creative Development for the National Youth Anti-Drug Media, at the White House Office of National Drug Control Policy; Grammy Award winning Rapper, author and activist Common; NBA player Mutumbo; NFL players Ray Lewis and J. Wayman Henry III; Actor Lamman Rucker; Rodney Gill Vice President of Media and Sales for BET at Ritz Carlton Georgetown in Washington, DC.

DJ Frances Jaye is the founder of www.NEOSOULCAFE.com radio station. She created the Neo‐Soul Café' as an oasis for soul music connoisseurs. Jaye wanted to utilize the Internet by providing and showing people they were missing in the world of soul music.
