Los Angeles, CA (September 17, 2009) – Legendary pop icon Madonna's new video "Celebration" features the cutting-edge Jerk dance and style from recording artist Mowie of underground Hip Hop group the REJ3CTZ out of Los Angeles. Mowie has toured with Madonna since 2006 and recently wRapped the European leg of Madonna's Sticky and Sweet Tour. He now returns to focus on his own music project with the REJ3CTZ who have inked a record deal with Asylum/Warner Bros through production company 700 Degrees.
Originating in Los Angeles in the underground scene, the Jerk "movement" has spread like wildfire across the nation to define a youth subculture that encompasses dance, music, and fashion. Mowie and group members PeeWee and Bounce are best known as pioneers of the movement and creators of signature footwork dance move "The Reject" or "The Reject Stomp," which became the foundation for the dance style now recognizable as "Jerkin'." The REJ3CTZ have inspired many young groups and artists in the current Jerk scene and made a cameo appearance in the video for summer hit record "You're A Jerk" from labelmates the New Boyz. They have also been featured in the Los Angeles Times and in Pepsi's " Mic Pass " freestyle series with Yahoo! Music.
Most recently the REJ3CTZ party record "Code Red" premiered on Los Angeles ' hit radio station Power 106 and has been gaining momentum. "Code Red" was produced by multi-platinum hit producer Seven Aurelius (J.Lo, Diddy, Making the Band, Ja Rule, Ashanti) under 700 Degrees, a partnership of Aurelius and Ghost Kasen. Currently the REJ3CTZ are recording for their highly anticipated debut album on Asylum/Warner Bros entitled "The Function."
